An act, thought, action, incident, situation lead us to a path, which goes nowhere or where we do not know what we can do. Once in a lifetime everyone goes through this & generally, people recover, but sometimes they cannot. The journey from being dependent to independent is the one where one faces it most of the time. In the process of making something out of you, the only thing we lose most of the time is self.

Everyone faces problems & the one who does not is not living a life but passing it because when we try to take control over our life we face issues, even when we meet others we compare, when we talk we resist. In this era of social media, we are creating an army of people who are physically present but somehow lost. We have 500 friends online but not even 5 with us when we can trust blindly with our things.
The best thing about depression is that it does not discriminate on the basis on age, caste, sex, religion, money, power. Who has raised its standard above the bar to address this problem along with the local efforts of the countries to address this problem. In order to help more than 100 million people across the globe WHO has come up with a special initiative to reduce the suicide mobility rate & provide increased treatment & conditioning across the globe.

The outcome of mental illness sometimes results in suicide & clearly, in the South East Asia Region we see this as a bigger problem. India leads this region in suicide mortality rate with 16.3/100000 as per the latest report of 2020.

To deal with this India has also set up a National Mental Health Policy to address this issue & in continuation to the same, we have come up with an act about which people are unaware, they don’t know about their rights & duties.

The mental health care Act, 2017 applies to the whole of India finally including J&K, defines "Mental healthcare" as it includes analysis and diagnosis of a person's mental condition and treatment as well as care and rehabilitation of such person for his mental illness or suspected mental illness. In addition, this act provides certain set of rights to people such as-
1. Right to access to mental health care
2. Right to community living
3. Right to protection from cruel, inhuman & degrading treatment
4. Right to equality & non discrimination
5. Right to Information
6. Right to confidentiality
7. Restriction on release of information in respect to illness
8. Right to access medical records
9. Right to personal contact & communication
10. Right to legal aid
11. Right to make complaint about deficiencies in provision of services

Nevertheless, we can also see that the Indian markets are filled with insurance agencies trying to promote Insurance but rarely have we seen any company promoting mental health insurance. In comparison to other insurances available to the public against other diseases there is lack or negligence for the need of insurance against mental illness for the person suffering from the same.
Addressing the problem to deal with it, the biggest question we face today is whether we are fighting the depression or the depressed. How to deal with it, you all know better than me but if you can follow one tip then it will surely bring some change. Before going to bed or whenever feeling depressed or low watch something funny to calm your nerves. Surely, we are so much fascinated by the west that we failed to look down our own way to treat this problem. Ayurveda for years claims mind as the sun of our solar system & through yoga and practicing Chakra we can master the same. Always remember, "Talk it out to deal it out" & Live for your self & loved ones.
